Italy expels two suspected extremists in fight against terrorim

Italy has expelled two more suspected extremists as part of extraordinary measures to combat terrorism.

Security officials carried out the expulsions on Wednesday, said interior minister Angelino Alfano.

Mr Alfano declined to provide any details on the two suspects, where they were detained, or to what nation they were deported.

On Tuesday, Italy expelled a Moroccan imam who had been under surveillance for his radical preaching in the town of Noventa Vicentina near Vicenza in northern Italy.

He was the eighth imam to be deported as part of Italian measures designed to prevent attacks.

Mr Alfano said the deportation orders seek to draw a distinction between "who prays and who shoots."
