Jury finds 'Batman' killer James Holmes guilty
So-called Batman gunman James Holmes has been found legally sane and guilty of murdering 12 people in a cinema in Colorado.
Holmes opened fire during a midnight premiere of the movie in July 2012. He showed no reaction as the first guilty verdict against him was announced.
During the trial, jurors were left with conflicting portraits of the man accused of shooting a dozen people dead and injuring scores more.
The defence painted James Holmes as a young man who on that night lost a lifelong battle with mental illness, while prosecutors described him as calculated and driven to kill by a foundering academic career and break-up with his first and only girlfriend.
