Kanye West and Mumford & Sons take part in Global Citizen album
Mumford & Sons and Kanye West will participate in a collaborative album inspired by fans and activists from the advocacy organisation Global Citizen.
Global Citizen and Communion Music said the album Metamorphoses will include 12 original songs created from words and stories submitted by fans and activists.
Musicians will create new songs from the submissions.
Metamorphoses will also include alternative rock band The National and pop singer Ellie Goulding.
Ben Lovett, of Mumford & Sons, will curate the project.
More participating artists will be announced at a later date and the album will be released in the autumn.
Global Citizen launched in 2012. It produces the free Global Citizen Festival in New York City.
Last year's festival included US first lady Michelle Obama, Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai and Beyonce.
