Man found shot dead in Tampa area where three people were killed last month

Police have sealed off an area in a Florida city where a fourth person has been shot to death, possibly by a serial killer.

Tampa police say they immediately set up a perimeter on Tuesday morning around the Seminole Heights district after finding the body of 60-year-old Ronald Felton.

Officers say Mr Felton was crossing the street to meet someone when a gunman came up behind him and shot him.

Spokesman Steve Hegarty said detectives cannot immediately say whether the shooting is related to last month's killings when three people were murdered during a 10-day period.

All three were alone and had gotten off a bus when they were gunned downed at night for no apparent reason. None were robbed.

Police have been boosting patrols in the area. They have released surveillance videos of a hooded suspect after the earlier shootings.

Mr Felton was an unemployed construction worker who volunteered at a food bank, it was reported.

The Tampa Bay Times said he volunteered several times a week at a food bank near where he was gunned down.

Cynthia Murray told the newspaper that Mr Felton had been living with her and would often arrive at the food bank at 2.30am to help.
