Marines die in helicopter collision

Seven US marines have been killed in a collision between two helicopters north of Yuma, Arizona, during night training.

Lt Maureen Dooley, with the Miramar Air Base in California, said the marines were based at Camp Pendleton, north of San Diego.

She said the crash involved Cobra and Huey helicopters.

Lt Dooley said investigators were still gathering information about the incident and it will be at least 24 hours before the Marine Corps releases the names of those killed.
