New York City subway train derails

Four people were taken to hospital after a New York City subway train derailed.

Firefighters said 15 others suffered minor injuries in the derailment in a Queens tunnel and were treated at the scene.

The express F train was bound for Manhattan and Brooklyn when it derailed at 10.40am about 1,200 feet south of the 65th Street station in Woodside.

Transit officials said the middle six carriages of the eight-carriage train derailed. There were about 1,000 passengers on the train.

Firefighters said the passengers were all evacuated. The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
