Obama welcomes Kenny to the US
President Barack Obama has celebrated an extended St. Patrick's Day at the White House with a visit by Taoiseach Enda Kenny.
In the Oval Office with the Irish leader, Mr Obama thanked the Irish for the warm welcome he received in Ireland last year and pledged to return with his wife, Michelle.
Mr Obama and Mr Kenny, along with vice president Joe Biden, will attend a St Patrick's Day lunch in Congress later.
The president and first lady will also host a reception for Mr Kenny at the White House.
The president said that he and Mr Kenny reviewed the global economy and Irish efforts to get control of its budget.
