Palin daughter in second love split
Sarah Palin's daughter and her fiance have called off their second engagement after he told her he may have fathered a baby with another girl, it has emerged.
The other girl was not identified, but a pregnant ex-girlfriend of Levi Johnston has publicly denied he is the father.
Bristol Palin, the 19-year-old daughter of former US Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor Sarah Palin, told People magazine that Johnston told her about the baby on July 14, the day the couple had announced their engagement. Bristol Palin and Johnston have a son, Tripp.
Miss Palin said the "final straw" was when Johnston told her he was going to Hollywood to see a hunting show, but actually went there to star in a music video mocking her family.
Miss Palin had said that she did not have her mother's full support over reconnecting with Johnston, 20 and both her mother and father Todd feared she would get hurt again.
Relations between the Palins and Johnston and his family have frequently been strained since the couple broke off their first engagement soon after their son was born in late December 2008.
Sarah Palin told People that she hoped her daughter would "move forward in life with her same forgiving, gracious, optimistic spirit, but from henceforth she'll know to trust but verify".
