Prince Harry left shocked by old matron in New Zealand

Prince Harry was taken by surprise when he bumped into his old matron during day four of his trip to New Zealand.

He spotted Vicky McBratley, his old matron from Ludgrove School, who is now a pre-school teacher in Christchurch.

She was in a crowd that braved the weather to see the royal and handed Harry a collection of photos of him and his friends, and what she described as "memories of Ludgrove".

"My goodness, I remember you," Harry said. "Long time no see."

Earlier, he met Prime Minister John Key at New Regent Street and rode on a tram through the worst affected areas hit by the 2011 earthquake, including the damaged Christchurch Cathedral.
