Prince visits troops in Afghanistan

Prince Andrew has paid a visit to British troops in southern Afghanistan this weekend.

Arriving in Camp Bastion in Helmand Province on Saturday, he stayed overnight at the base before going to see The Royal Irish Regiment at Forward Operating Base Shawqat.

His trip also took in the Task Force Helmand headquarters in Lashkar Gah and a visit to the 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland.

He met military and civilian personnel serving in the Brigade Headquarters and the Helmand Provincial Reconstruction Team, leaving Kandahar on Sunday evening.
