Sinead O'Connor found safe after US police issue appeal to trace her
Irish singer Sinead O'Connor has been found safe, hours after police in suburban Chicago issued an appeal to trace her.
Wilmette police spokesman Eric Peterson said O'Connor has now been located, but he did not say where she was found.
He said only that the singer "is safe and no longer considered a missing or endangered person".
Earlier, police issued an alert to trace her after she had failed to return from a bike ride early on Sunday morning.
It is unclear why she was in Wilmette, a suburb about 15 miles north of Chicago along the shores of Lake Michigan.
