Sir Paul McCartney has got engaged to his girlfriend of nearly four years, his publicist has said.
New York socialite Nancy Shevell will become the third wife of the former Beatles singer when they tie the knot.
His spokesman, Stuart Bell, confirmed the engagement but gave no further details, saying only: "We're all thrilled for him."
Sir Paul, 68, and Ms Shevell started seeing each other in Long Island's Hamptons area in late 2007.
The singer-songwriter's first wife, Linda, died of cancer in 1998 and he divorced his second wife, Heather Mills, in 2008.
Although his most recent marriage ended in an acrimonious courtroom battle with the former model, he appeared to remain optimistic about affairs of the heart, reportedly commenting on his romance with 51-year-old Ms Shevell: "I just like being in love."
Ms Shevell, who sits on the board of New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority, is said to get on well with Sir Paul's five children.
Before she started dating Sir Paul, Ms Shevell was married for more than 20 years to lawyer Bruce Blakeman.
Mr Blakeman was a close friend of former New York governor George Pataki, who appointed her to the MTA board.
She also is the vice president for administration of New England Motor Freight, a New Jersey-based trucking company owned by her father.
