Trump White House talk 'no stunt'

Billionaire developer Donald Trump has denied he is using talk about a run for the US presidency to generate publicity for his television show.

Trump, a Republican, told NY1 News that he plans to decide by June on whether to join the 2012 race.

In an interview, Trump said that the "biggest negative" is that most people do not think he is serious about making a run for the job.

But he said he does not need publicity for his television show, The Celebrity Apprentice. He said the show got solid ratings for Sunday's episode.

One of Trump's top associates landed in Iowa on Monday for a series of meetings with key Republicans. Caucuses in Iowa typically launch the presidential nominating season.

Trump said his representative was "swamped" when he went to Iowa.
