US election: Hillary Clinton campaign warns ‘whopping’ Wikileaks release could hit on voting day
Hillary Clinton’s campaign has suggested that a “whopper” of a Wikileaks release about its candidate is about to be released.
Ms Clinton’s campaign has moved to slam any release that comes out in the days of the US election, even before that release has been made public. Wikileaks hasn’t denied that any release is coming.
"Friends, please remember that if you see a whopper of a Wikileaks in next two days - it's probably a fake," Clinton's communications director Jennifer Palmieri wrote on Twitter.
Wikileaks has responded to Ms Palmieri’s tweet on its own Twitter account. It didn’t dispute that it was planning a release but said that anything it did put out would be genuine, making reference to its “perfect record”.
John Podesta's leaked emails have driven many of the biggest stories around the election, including excerpts from Ms Clinton’s previously secret speeches to Wall Street as well as more frivolous revelations like the campaign’s work with Blink 182’s Tom Delonge to find aliens.
