Video: Kony 2012 filmmaker Jason Russell's naked meltdown
Shocking video footage has emerged of 'Kony 2012' filmmaker Jason Russell in a naked and disturbed condition on a San Diego street corner in broad daylight.
Russell, famous for his involvement in the 30-minute 'Kony 2012' film, is co-founder of American advocacy group Invisible Children. The film calls for the arrest of Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony and has reached a worldwide audience of more than 100 million.
Law-enforcement officers picked the 33-year-old up for being drunk and naked on a busy street corner. A police spokesman said that Russell appeared to have been masturbating in public, had vandalised cars, and was under the influence of drugs or alcohol when he was detained, shortly before lunchtime last Thursday.
He was not formally arrested, since officers came to the conclusion that his behaviour and lack of clothes suggested that he should instead be placed into the care of health professionals.
Russell, co-founder of American advocacy group Invisible Children, was in Pacific Beach, a neighbourhood of San Diego popular with College students on hedonistic "Spring Break" vacations.
