Wanted rap mogul turns himself in
Death Row Records founder Marion Suge Knight has turned himself in after being linked with a hit-and-run incident that left one man dead and another injured.
The rap mogul's attorney said earlier that Knight ran over and killed a friend and injured another man on Thursday as he fled attackers.
Authorities said Knight was a person of interest in the incident, which was being investigated as a homicide.
In a brief statement, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said Knight was at the West Hollywood station with his attorney and was being interviewed by homicide detectives.
No other information was released and there was no mention if Knight was being held.
Officials say that a red pick-up truck struck the men at around 3pm local time in the parking area of a fast-food restaurant in the Los Angeles-area city of Compton and then took off.
A 55-year-old man died at a hospital and a 51-year-old man was injured.
