Belfast Bike vandals are a blight on city's reputation
It is disappointing to find that fewer than one in seven of the Belfast Bikes are operational due to increasing vandalism.
In one period of three days, more than 70 of the bicycles were targeted. This is a shocking statistic for a city that prides itself on its warmth and hospitality to visitors, and its reputation as a buzzing and attractive place with much to offer people.
It is a great pity that such a worthwhile venture as the Belfast Bikes is being undermined in this fashion. Vandalism now occurs in so many ways, but there are still a majority of decent people who will no doubt do what they can to help the authorities deal with such anti-social behaviour.
