Faking pregnancy creepy, not funny
Of all the idiotic things you can buy on the internet, the 'fake a pregnancy' kit has got to take the prize.
In fact, idiotic is not the word, dangerous is more like it. You can now turn to the internet to buy a positive pregnancy test, an ultrasound scan, a doctor's certificate and even a prosthetic bump.
They're being marketed as 'pranks' but even the best intentioned joke about being pregnant has a slightly sinister element to it. At the other end of the scale, the damage someone with more underhand intentions could do is frightening.
Manufacturers and misguided customers need to ask themselves at what level is pretending to be pregnant ever funny?
