Meryl Streep's a Donegal girl, honestly
Ah, Dunfanaghy. The most beautiful place in the world and now home to Hollywood royalty. Well, almost.
The Donegal village, where I've holidayed all my life, is my spiritual home. It's the only place in the world I feel truly relaxed with its stunning landscape, warm welcome and interesting weather.
There was a bit of excitement there this week when it emerged Meryl Streep's great great grandmother emigrated from Dunfanaghy to America. The Oscar winner still has cousins living there who are, of course, delighted with the link.
The village is not lucky to count Meryl among its offspring, but she should feel lucky to have Donegal in her DNA.
