Is there anything left to say about that wedding?
How about "Camilla"?
Should she really have disappeared off to sign the register, effectively taking the place of the late Diana, Princess of Wales?
Presumably Prince William had no problem with her doing so.
But in some weird way it drew attention to what should not have been drawn attention to on the wedding day - namely her unfortunate role as number three in the marriage of Prince Charles and Diana.
Then there was that apparent awkwardness whenever Camilla came into close proximity with the Queen - Mrs Wales looked like someone who was afraid of doing and saying the wrong thing in front of Ma'am, in a way that Carole Middleton didn't.
There was also the oddly low-key role played by Charles and Camilla as a whole in the events in the Abbey. Given Charles is the father of the groom, that struck many as a sign of over-caution with regard to public perception.
And really, about that new title for the bride ... Duchess? I think when one hears that word, it's less the rosy-cheeked, blushing bright-eyed Catherine that springs to mind, but instead the round-shouldered, over-blown, rather worn Camilla.
(Wouldn't she make a wonderful Miss Marple though?)
There's been a popular view for some time that the Duchess of Cornwall is a rather misunderstood individual. A woman who finally got to marry her big love late in life, who is in fact uncomfortable in the Royal spotlight, preferring to hide out in her own home and with no real ambitions to the title of Queen.
Is it true though?
Signing that register took a brass neck, as did hanging in there for years until she saw off Diana.
Somehow I think Camilla is in it for the long haul.
So help us all.
