Austin Chapman: A story that's music to all our ears
My favourite story of this week was about Austin Chapman, a young Californian filmmaker who, thanks to a state-of-the-art hearing aid, is now able to hear for the first time in his life.
It's impossible to imagine how the world has opened up to him, like a tightly-coiled rose finally blooming.
The best bit of the story is when Chapman was in the car with friends and one of them put on Mozart's Requiem. Chapman began to cry and ended up with tears streaming down his face.
If ever we need reminding of the power of music, this is a tale to tell.
