How Dylan keeps burning bright
Bob Dylan fans – sometimes we call ourselves Bobcats, just for the hell of it – will tell you there's nothing Bob (above) can't do. The songwriting stuff is pretty well acknowledged, but he also invented music videos (Subterranean Homesick Blues, 1965), wrote one of the greatest ever rock autobiographies (Chronicles, 2004) and sells his paintings for thousands.
He even turned out to be a compelling radio DJ. The welding, I admit however, has come as a surprise.
But they say the display of Bob-welded iron gates at London's Halcyon Gallery is pretty impressive. 'Why gates?' the mystified will cry. And the wise man will shrug and say 'Why not?'
