For thousands of students across Northern Ireland the waiting is nearly over. Exam results will be published on 15 August (AS Levels/ A-Levels) and 22 August (GCSEs) and important decisions will need to be made.
Deciding what do to after examination results are known can be difficult for many students and their parents / guardians. In today’s economic climate it is even more important to get good advice on the options available.
The Department for Employment and Learning’s Careers Service has a team of professionally qualified careers advisers who offer impartial careers information, advice and guidance to people of all ages. Their services are in high demand from young people and their parents or guardians throughout the course of the academic year, and especially at results time when important decisions have to be made.
Careers advisers are based throughout Northern Ireland in Jobs and Benefits offices, Job Centres, Careers Offices and in three Careers Resource Centres in Belfast, Dungannon and Londonderry. It aims to assist parents/guardians support their children in future career planning and provide information on the different aspects of careers information, advice and guidance.
