Kennedy announces resurfacing works on Garron Road, Waterfoot

Stormont Executive press release - Department for Regional Development

Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy announced the start of a £95,000 major resurfacing scheme on A2 Garron Rd., Waterfoot.

The work is due to begin on 2 September 2013, from Glen Road, East towards Garron Point for approximately 1 kilometre.

The Minister said: “This scheme will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of the carriageway on part of this important coastal route between Waterfoot and Carnlough.”

To help minimise any inconvenience to the travelling public and local businesses this work is programmed to be completed using lane closures.

The scheme is expected to be substantially completed on 11 September 2013.

The above planned dates are subject to favourable weather conditions and Roads Service will keep the public informed of any change.

Roads Service has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public, however motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.

The above planned dates are subject to favourable weather conditions.

Road users may wish to keep up to date with any revisions by checking the Roadworks Report at
