The much awaited election has come and gone. By the time you read these lines most of the votes will have been counted with only a few results still to be declared. I’ve got to confess to you that I love an election. I enjoy chatting with the canvassers who call at the house, am intrigued by the design of the different posters and am always on the look out for a candidate who is trying to capture your vote with a slightly different approach. This year’s winner was a candidate who delivered a handwritten note to all the residents of our street.

The thing is, this week’s election was very different to a General Election. I mean, you needed to have your wits about you – all those numbers rather than a simple ‘X’ and such a list of candidates. It wasn’t easy to work it all out and to make your choice.
