Editor's Viewpoint: Author’s courageous cancer battle will be lasting legacy
The many Northern Ireland female readers of the writer Emma Hannigan are mourning her untimely death from cancer at the age of 45.
Her entertaining romances showcased her great talent as a writer, but ultimately it was her courageous real-life story of her battle with a terminal illness that underlined her defiance and grit, and was the greatest testament to her true character.
Her death at such an early age has robbed her family, friends and fans of a remarkable woman.
However, her work in raising cancer awareness and the way in which she dealt with her own illness will be her enduring legacy.
