Editor's Viewpoint: Charity's new child nursing post godsend for families
It is encouraging to know that a post has been established by the WellChild charity to enable youngsters with respiratory illnesses to spend more time at home with their families with the help of a qualified nurse.
Ruth Harte has already begun her role at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children to ensure that the system will work as smoothly as possible for all concerned.
This development is welcome at a time when budgets are under such pressure, and it will allow children to spend precious time outside hospital.
This visionary partnership between the charity and a private company, which provides the funding, will be greatly appreciated.
