A chance to do right thing for distraught mum of baby
The anguish of Claire Smallwood is undeniable. She went through the trauma of seeing her first child stillborn and now the ashes of that baby have been stolen. She believes that the burglars, who took nothing else during the break-in at her Belfast home, thought the ashes, contained in a plastic bag, were drugs.
Understandably, she wants that precious relic of her child returned. And if the thieves have any shred of humanity or decency then they will answer Claire's plea as soon as possible. Given the publicity which has followed the burglary there are people who know who was responsible. They should use that information to ensure the ashes are returned.
