Abseiling Mary Peters still capable of setting the gold standard
The Olympic Gold medallist Dame Mary Peters has set many records, but one of her most impressive is becoming the first person to abseil the 100 feet from the gallery of the Dome at Victoria Square to the floor of the landmark shopping centre.
This was to help raise money for disadvantaged children, and also for the Mary Peters Trust. She said the experience was "scary but magic", but she has shown much courage in her career, and brought the "magic" of an Olympic Gold medal to Northern Ireland.
Mary is now a youthful 75, and her attitude and sense of adventure are ageless. She is a true champion in every way.
