Actor's tribute is fitting for his inspirational relative
Ian McElhinney is an internationally acclaimed actor and director but he will be happy to appear on a much smaller stage next month to pay tribute to a remarkable relative. He will read poems composed by the Rev Canon Liz McElhinney after she was diagnosed with the degenerative motor neurone disease which claimed her life aged 71.
The Lurgan hall will be a far cry from the set of Game of Thrones or the many theatres Ian has graced, but he wants to pay tribute not only to Liz's talent but also to her unerring faith which fortified her in her final illness. She was a star in his eyes and even in death will continue to do good as her poems will raise money for the local MND charity
