Anthony Chambers is one of an extraordinary breed of people - a Royal National Lifeboat Institution volunteer. The RNLI is a charity that makes the treacherous seas around these islands safer, and Anthony's heroism in rescuing two teenage boys trapped in a cave by a rising tide at Castlerock in 2009 is recalled in a new book, Surviving The Storm.
Anthony nearly lost his life that day and he received a gallantry award for his actions. But that is the risk these brave men and women take every time they launch their lifeboats. Relying on donations and legacies to keep going, they deserve the book to be a bestseller. They're true heroes.
