With all respect to those who made the shortlist for the annual Sports Personality of the Year, there was one glaring omission - Northern Ireland's motorcycle star Jonathan Rea.
It may not have the universal appeal of athletics or football, but by any measure Jonathan rules his sport.
His five successive wins in the Superbike World Championship make him the most successful rider in its history.
And just to underline his supremacy, he has won more individual races than any other rider.
One might say that he should have been a racing certainty to make the grid for Sports Personality of the Year.
