Belfast pooch Moses takes term 'walkies' to the extreme
It may sound like a shaggy dog story, but a pooch named Moses made his way from Belfast's Shankill Road area to Cambridgeshire, a trip of some 300 miles. It is thought that the poodle stowed away on board a ship at Belfast docks and then made its way on foot to the east of England after disembarking in Liverpool.
Little wonder Moses was in poor condition when finally brought into an animal sanctuary with matted coat and alive with fleas. But the marathon trip shows the resilience of the dog in managing to fend for itself and stay alive in trying circumstances. All that is missing from this tale is a claim that Moses got to England by parting the Irish Sea.
