Big-hearted football fans pride of Northern Ireland

Editor's Viewpoint

Northern Ireland football fans, fresh from being awarded a medal by Paris for their sporting behaviour at the Euros, have scored again by helping meet the medical expenses of one of their own who suffered severe injuries in a fall.

While Ben Crossley had medical insurance to cover the treatment for fractures he sustained when plunging three storeys from a hotel window, fellow fans were concerned that it might not cover required dental work and physiotherapy, and have raised more than £3,000 already.

Not only are the fans good fun, lauded wherever they go, but they also have generous hearts. They're born winners.
