Book about life of GAA star shows true brotherly love

Editor's Viewpoint

Donal McAnallen has written a moving and beautiful book about his brother Cormac, the star GAA player and captain of Tyrone who died in 2004 from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.

Donal provides a deeply touching account of their relationship.

He also poses serious questions about the health risks of contact sports such as Gaelic football - and Cormac, like nearly all players, sustained injuries.

Above all, however, the book is a tragic reminder of the immense loss in the sudden death of a young man who had achieved so much on and off the pitch, and who still had so much to live for.
