Boss's sportsmanship may have cost Leeds big time
Sport, and football in particular, never ceases to astonish. Take for example the chaotic scenes in the Championship game between Leeds United and Aston Villa.
Leeds' hopes of automatic promotion to the Premier League are over after manager Marcelo Bielsa sportingly allowed Villa to score an uncontested equaliser following an earlier incident when the home team refused to put the ball out so an injured Villa player could receive treatment, and United scored as a result.
Some people will say that the Leeds manager acted nobly in the circumstances, but others may conclude that, in the harsh world of football, he was sportingly naive.
