Brave Wales lived the dream to become national heroes

Editor's Viewpoint

Wales football manager Chris Coleman had urged the fans not to be afraid to dream, but their dreams of making it to the final of Euro 2016 ended somewhat tamely last night against Portugal.

Sadly, the team never reached the heights of its previous victory over Belgium. However, in the first appearance by the country in a major finals for 58 years, reaching the semi-finals was an incredible achievement and one which will leave the names of the players engraved in the memories of thousands of fans.

The players will get a heroes' welcome home, as did Northern Ireland and the Republic, for making dreamers of us all.
