Brendan storms in with a reminder winter's still here
It wasn't just Boris Johnson who was providing picture opportunities in Northern Ireland yesterday. Storm Brendan left the province looking even more dishevelled than the Prime Minister's famously unruly hair.
It was a sharp reminder that although the days are lengthening we are in the depths of winter and the fickle weather can cause huge disruption.
Rough seas led to ferry cancellations, waves battered the coastline breaching the sea wall at Carrickfergus and countless trees were brought down along with power lines.
As ever, those tasked with restoring power, clearing roads and responding to emergencies performed heroically and deserve our sincerest thanks.
