Carl's feet are on the ground but his popularity's sky high
Carl Frampton may be a hometown hero but his appeal goes much wider as the viewing figures for his world title defence at the weekend demonstrated. Some 1.9m in the UK tuned in to watch his five round demolition of his American opponent and there is little doubt that if his next bout is against England's Scott Quigg, the audience on free-to-view terrestrial television would be enormous.
Not only does Carl deliver in the ring, he is also a tremendous ambassador for Northern Ireland. He doesn't really buy into the faux hype surrounding so many big fights. He lets his fists do the talking and they are eloquent.
