Belfast in 2005 was a city recovering from three decades of violence and trying to replace an industrial past. Our images from Google Maps show how the capital has changed dramatically in the past 15 years, with enormous development in the docklands and the Cathedral Quarter in particular.
Belfast is now a proper tourist destination and a city which has recovered its confidence.
Great credit is due to the entrepreneurs who had the vision and courage to invest in a place once shunned by virtually everyone but the hardened news corps. And the public services, in spite of the many travails of devolution, have also contributed positively.
