The man who paid for a Waringstown ambulance worker's groceries and then bought her a large Easter egg was expressing the gratitude and admiration that we all have for those working in the health service, especially on the frontline.

Their selflessness, courage and caring nature marks them out as exceptional people and that should be remembered when the fight against coronavirus is finally won.

Today this newspaper carries a poster which can be displayed in readers' windows or door exhorting us to clap for the NHS again tonight. Clapping may be a small gesture but it is important for the morale of our NHS heroes.
