Community shows not all superheroes wear capes

Editor's Viewpoint

It was like the famous scene in the sitcom Only Fools and Horses when Del Boy and Rodney, dressed as Batman and Robin, foil two muggers. This time in Belfast it was a real-life robbery with thugs armed with knives who came up against Batman and Spider-Man, two men who usually dress up as the superheroes for children's parties.

In true superhero fashion they wish to remain anonymous and heap most of the praise for foiling the robbery onto other members of the public who also intervened.

It was a wonderful example of community spirit coming to the aid of a shopkeeper under threat. However they may describe themselves all of them deserve the label of hero.
