Editor's Viewpoint: A giant leap
A Royal wedding party in west Belfast. Those are words that would have seemed incredible even a short time ago.
Admittedly the actual event falls far short of a celebration of William and Kate's wedding, but a cross-community football match, music from a Protestant flute band and a joint disco between the neighbouring Suffolk and Lenadoon estates shows that some people are prepared to not only tolerate an opposing tradition but also to welcome it.
The community groups working on this interface deserve great credit for their efforts to bring harmony and tolerance to the area. It may be a small step in the eyes of many, but in terms of what went before, it is a giant leap forward.
