Editor's Viewpoint: A literary feast
In this age of technological developments in communication, the traditional role of the printed book is being challenged, though it would be a major tragedy if books were ever to disappear as an art form.
For centuries books have been a cornerstone of our civilisation and this week's Belfast Book Festival is a welcome reminder of the role they continue to play in all of our lives, including young people.
The purpose of the festival is to capture the literary energy of this artistically creative city and province and to celebrate the role of writers and readers. The festival, which will bring enjoyment to many, deserves our strong support.
