Editor's Viewpoint: Another high note for Sir James Galway

Sir James Galway is one flute player who has brought honour to his native city of Belfast.

It is an instrument more commonly associated with tribal displays of loyalty in Northern Ireland, but in his hands it has become a symbol of musical excellence.

Now in his 70th year, Sir James has won world acclaim for his performances, and his appearance in Belfast during the city’s first ever Music Week may well inspire others to a musical career.

For once the city fathers have hit the right note in honouring him.
