Editor's Viewpoint: Cash in on Narnia
CS Lewis was inspired by Northern Ireland, and particularly the Mourne Mountains, to create his fictional realm of Narnia.
The seven Chronicles of Narnia novels have sold more 1m copies and been translated into 47 languages, demonstrating their global appeal. Yet Northern Ireland has made little attempt to lure Lewis' fans by creating a similarly imaginative tourism experience for them. Today three leading public relations consultants tell our readers how they would go about cashing in on the Narnia appeal. Will any of those ideas bear fruit, or will we have to wait for 1 years to pass as in the case of the long overdue Titanic signature project?
