Editor's Viewpoint: Charity box thief must be tracked down without delay
it is distressing and distasteful to learn that a thief, whose identity is as yet unknown, stole a charity box for the young cancer victim Cameron Truesdale, who died last week.
The police have warned that this odious miscreant has made "a grave mistake", and have said that they cannot protect someone whom they don't yet know from the dangers of community anger.
No-one can or should condone so-called "vigilante justice", and people must not take the law into their own hands.
However someone, somewhere, must know the identity of this reprobate thief, and it is their duty to pass on the information to the police as soon as possible.
