Editor's Viewpoint: Cold snap an ideal time for warmth of human kindness
Everyone, like Bing Crosby, might be dreaming about a White Christmas, with all the romance conjured by images of snow in the depths of winter.
However, the reality can be extremely problematic as our current cold snap shows.
The snow looks beautiful, and it provides a temporary wonderland for children and for those adults who are young at heart.
Yet it can also be dangerous for motorists and pedestrians, and all who literally fall foul of the ice.
However, it is also a time for neighbourly and random kindness towards the vulnerable, and an opportunity to keep our feathered friends in mind.
