Editor's Viewpoint: Colin Bell deservedly hailed for work on behalf of bereaved
Newry couple Colin and Eithne Bell turned a family tragedy into a charitable organisation that helps others who are enduring the loss of a loved one.
They set up the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust in memory of their son, who was killed when hit by a car in New York. The couple used money left over from donations given to take his body home to establish the trust, and since then it has helped repatriate almost 500 people who died abroad.
This selfless work has been recognised by a Prime Ministerial Point of Light award for Colin. The charity's expertise is invaluable for families at a time of great loss, and Colin's award is richly deserved.
