Editor's Viewpoint: Frank, loved by all
Comic Frank Carson would have loved the title bestowed to him in death by the former Bishop of Derry, Bishop Edward Daly, who described him as the Prime Minister of Fun.
Yes, there were more tears than laughs at Frank's funeral on Saturday, but the crowds were there because he had entertained them over many years.
It was fitting that his Catholic funeral was followed by a blessing outside the Protestant St Anne's Cathedral, for Frank's humour crossed the sectarian boundaries in his divided homeland. He was a man who made his name on the UK stage, but who always brought honour to his native province, and the people loved him for that.
